Offers breast cancer information to patients and survivors, including practical advice and links to other Web sites offering breast cancer information.

Maintained by the New York State Education and Research Network, this site offers a variety of information on breast cancer, including local support groups retrievable by state.

National Childhood Cancer Foundation/Children's Cancer Group (NCCF/CCG) http://www.nccf.org/
This web site informs the public about facts on childhood cancer, stories of cancer survivors, clinical trial information of Children's Cancer Group, and locations of CCG institutions. A separate password-protected area is maintained for CCG membership. This area contains detailed CCG protocols, group operational support information, and group collaboration services such as group-specific mailing lists and web-based conference board.

POG is a National Cancer Institute sponsored cooperative group of individuals and institutions dedicated to controlling cancer among children and adolescents. This site contains listings of POG member institutions, POG's mission statement, as well as a section for POG members.

Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation (CCCF) http://www.candlelighters.org
This site provides an introduction to the programs and services of CCCF, including publications and local chapters. CCCF is an international, non-profit organization dedicated to educating, supporting, serving, and advocating for families of children of cancer, survivors of childhood cancer, and the professionals who care for them.

Cancer Care® is an organization that provides assistance free of charge to people with cancer. This site provides information on support groups, financial assistance, and cancer treatment.

Corporate Angel Network http://www.corpangelnetwork.org
The Corporate Angel Network (CAN) provides cancer patients with free air transportation to and from medial facilities using empty seats on corporate aircraft. Patients must meet CAN's qualifications, but do not need to meet any financial need criteria.

Medical Facilities: NCI-Designated Cancer Centers

With the passage of the National Cancer Act in 1971, Congress formally recognized the need for an interdisciplinary approach to cancer treatment, research, and education. The resulting Cancer Centers Program now supports centers of four types: comprehensive cancer centers, basic science cancer centers, clinical cancer centers, and consortium cancer centers.
